SHERIDAN LE FANU AWARD

Sheridan Le Fanu Award

Two years ago, the alternative culture festival Sui Generis Madrid (SGM) created the Sheridan Le Fanu Award in recognition of the trajectory of those who keep the spirit of Gothic literature alive today.

This year, we are pleased to give the to:

The writer Fernando Marías and the collective “Hijos de Mary Shelley”, for their artistic and informative work of the English author’s work through writing, music, theater and plastic arts. There is no better time to acknowledge his work than the bicentennial of the publication of the novel “Frankenstein”.

Alejandro Inurrieta, and the Ana María Iriarte Foundation, in recognition of the unconditional support and sponsorship they have given us since the first edition of Madrid Gothic Week. It was thanks to their interest and management capacity that our project was born one decade ago.

The award ceremony will take place at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 16 at the Joaquín Leguina Madrid Regional Library during the opening of the monographic exhibition “Ten years of the Madrid Gothic Week”, organized by SGM Art on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of our festival.
